Dolwyddelan Castle – Castell Dolwyddelan
by Graham Scott-Taylor
Thought to have originally been built in the 13th century by Llewelyn the Great this was probably a guard post which kept watch over a major routeway through North Wales. Today it still dominates the A470 between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Betws-y-Coed. The building itself has been modified and enlarged over the years. This image of the castle in its dramatic setting is enhanced by the strongly tonal Black & White treatment.
